This year the Tennessee Clean Water Network is going all out! We have the UT Press on board, which means we will not only be showing the wonderful Wild and Scenic films on October 19, but also Ghost Bird on October 21. It’s going to be a wonderful week of fun and films.
Amoung the line up for the Wild & Scenic on October , we will feature Big River. Big River highlights the effects of industrial agriculture on the Mississippi River. We will also have movies long and short, thoughtful and humorous for your enjoyment!
The Wild and Scenic Film Festival is currently the largest environmental film festival in the United States and it will be making an appearance at the Knoxville Museum of Art, on October 19th, during its 2010 Tour. This is the third year that the film festival has visited Knoxville.
On October 21, Ghost Bird, showcased by the UT Press, on October 21st. Ghost Bird is a feature length documentary about an extinct giant woodpecker, a small town in Arkansas hoping to reverse its misfortunes, and the tireless odyssey of the bird-watchers and scientists searching for the Holy Grail of birds, the elusive Ivory-billed woodpecker.
So come on out to the Knoxville Museum of Art, on October 19th and 21st. Watch great films, eat tasty popcorn and meet some people in our community interested in making a positive change in the environment. Again, this is going to be a fun event! You don’t want to miss it!
