In The Network…

Since our inception TCWN has worked to build the capacity of citizen watershed associations and leaders so that they may become more effective advocates for their local watersheds. TCWN regularly provides direct assistance to local watershed organizations, including:

  • Providing guidance in establishing 501(c)(3) status.
  • Supplying financial backing and helping an organization develop fundraising strategies.
  • Providing technical and policy support.
  • Guiding organizations through the strategic planning process.
  • Building and developing a Board of Directors.
  • Reaching and targeting constituents.

Organizations that have received assistance from TCWN:

Emory River Watershed Association
Friends of the Clinch and Powell Rivers
South Chickamauga Creek Conservancy
Harpeth River Watershed Association
Little River Watershed Association
Friends of the Buffalo River
Save our Cumberland Mountains
Sierra Club, Tennessee
Boone Lake Watershed Association
Reelfoot Watch Group
Knox County Clean Water Alliance
Citizens for Free Watts Bar Lake Access
Cross Bridges Community Association
Citizens Against the Haywood-Fayette County Mega Site

TCWN also works to provide vehicles for networking between organizations and individuals as a venue to seek advice and gather information needed to ensure the protection and restoration of Tennessee waters.
